Managing Director
John is well qualified to support InvestToRent through his experience, knowledge and his contacts. He has demonstrated considerable success working in the mortgage industry, with home builders and, in residential property for over 30 years. He joined Halifax Building Society with a law degree in 1982. He worked across the branch network before being appointed assistant manager in Edinburgh. Here he headed the administration of 100 staff across three branches. In 1988 was appointed area business development manager for Greater Manchester. He was later seconded as area manager for South Manchester before working at Head office with the McKinsey Consultants. Here, he conceived and headed the project to establish the Halifax new build operation. Taking advantage of national builder contacts at board level, he established his own dedicated new build mortgage brokerage in 1995. By the year 2000, the company was one of the largest independent new homes brokerage in the north of the UK handling a quarter of a billion of mortgage business a year. By this stage the company had expanded to handle commercial lending and residential sub-prime. His company was subject to an international buy out-bid from USA home builder which was seeking to gain a foothold in the UK. The events of September 11th caused the Americans to withdraw from the UK market and their UK Chairman, Stewart Basely, took up the position of Chair of the Home Builders Federation. Stewart remains in the post and remains Johns' strongest contact within the UK building industry.

Following the credit crunch and recession in 2008, John completed an MBA. He designed point of sale soft-ware for major builders such as Persimmon and secured investment to facilitate major projects such as sale & leaseback of Barratt show homes. John now heads Property Gateway a specialist part exchange operation for leading home builders such as Persimmon Homes.

Laurence Kayne CeRER

Laurence is an entrepreneur and a sales professional as quoted in the Wall Street Transcript. Laurence has managed a range of businesses, most notably between 1968 and 1987 he was one of the largest pre owned Rolls Royce Dealers in the UK, and in later years with Mayfair Showrooms. He then acquired Lambourn Racehorse Transport, where he secured the Royal Warrant personally supplying Queen Elizabeth II directly from 1989 to 1994. Thereafter he semi-retired to Ireland with his wife in 1995. Upon his return to the UK Laurence trained in financial services, mortgage advice and equity release between 2005 and 2009. Since the end of 2015 he has partnered with John Lloyd in a part exchange residential property business working with large house building companies to facilitate property owners to acquire new build homes.

Mark Ray MCSE
Operations Director
Mark has key technology skills to provide robust and effective business systems. He is also an effective key account manager.

He has managed large business systems BICC (across the UK) and Castlemead Group regional home builder. He has provided technology solutions and key account managed SME businesses; The Mortgage Advice Centre (large new homes mortgage brokerage), Property Link a large letting agent in the north west and major projects with the board of Persimmon, Barratt and Taylor Wimpey.

Managing volume data via a robust, centralised database is essential in business. Mark has designed the systems for Property Gateway linking together data from Persimmon West Yorkshire, Persimmon Lancashire, [Hometrack], a number of regional estate agents, Rightmove and RICS valuers. In addition to the above, Mark is an IT specialist with key skills in database design and management and a Web specialist with key skills in website design and management, broadband and email provision and related management. He has provides technical administration support services and has expertise in builder technology systems design and key account management.

Colin Rogers

Colin offers a huge amount a practical, hand-on experience of buy to let. He has worked within the buy to let market for over 20 years. He has a personal portfolio of 28 houses with a value over £3m.

When he first commenced buying properties "to let", there was limited infrastructure in the market to support smaller landlords. Property and tenant selection, funding and management presented a steep learning curve to any property entrepreneur. Colin has further experienced the slow development of specialist mortgage products, insurance products and letting services. This level of knowledge and experience will help InvestToRent to successfully navigate the continuous changing landscape for property selection & purchase, regulation, effective management, disposal and taxation.

Keith Street
Chairman
Keith Street has been involved in the UK mortgage market for over 30 years and has held senior roles in lenders such as Citibank, Nationwide, HBOS and Kensington Mortgages.
During the 16 years at Kensington he was CEO from 2008 through to 2015 with overall responsibility for its UK and Irish operations. During the last 3 years his role has been that of Vice Chairman Group Lending for the North View Group. Keith has also sat on and been an active member on the Council of Mortgages Executive committee for over 7 years up to its merger into UK Finance in 2017

Derek Conelius

Derek Cornelius spent 20 years in mortgage and pool asset management, he held the position of Vice President at Citibank and director at Bear Sterns. Derek will deal with, and will coordinate, all external contacts in the City and Internationally.

Karim Karmali
Finance Director
Karim Karmali has 18 years of experience working for global financial institutions mainly within the structured finance space with experience in finance, strategy, portfolio management, company acquisitions, providing funding lines and setting up new businesses. Currently Karim is Head of Real Estate Finance for Met Zurich LLP, as well as holding advisory positions in some small start-up ventures. Previously, he was the Finance Director and Head of Strategy for Kensington Mortgages Ltd having taken the company through a strategic overhaul, and then the transition to Private Equity ownership with Blackstone and TPG. Prior to Kensington Mortgages, Karim spent over 4 years working for Investec Bank where he had several roles from Head of Strategy across Capital Markets, to running the New Business area where he helped drive Investec into new jurisdictions and asset classes. Before joining Investec, Karim worked for Lehman Brothers for 10 years, most latterly as a Director within the Principal Finance team focused on originating assets through a number of different means such as purchasing loan portfolios, acquiring operating platforms, setting up new lenders and financing established lenders. Karim is a qualified chartered accountant and received a B.Sc. Honours degree in Economics from Bristol University.

Housebuilders have "failed" to build more than 320,000 homes in the past five years even after getting the go-ahead from councils, according to a housing charity Shelter.
